Christine is a certified doula (toLabor) and in the process of completing her childbirth educator certification (ProDoula). She is certified in Neonatal Resuscitation through the AAP and is a Certified Breastfeeding Counselor through Lactation Advocates International Institute. In addition, Christine works as homebirth Midwifery Assistant and is a Level 3 Reiki Master. She has taken advanced trainings from Evidence Based Birth® on: how to help families get evidence based care, due dates, advanced maternal age, premature rupture of membranes, group B strep, and newborn procedures. Christine has completed specialized trainings in: emergency birth, vaginal births after Cesareans, acupressure, fetal positioning, working with twins and multiples, mood disorders in the childbearing year, homebirth, and supporting families during a baby’s stay in a neonatal intensive care unit. In 2004, Christine founded AP Chicago South -- a 1600-strong online community for families who practice attachment parenting. She is often invited to speak on birth and parenting topics for parenting groups, college classes, area hospitals and local businesses. Since 2014, Christine has been teaching childbirth education, both in private and group settings; and has written two childbirth education series. She is pleased to be one of the first in the county to offer the Evidence Based Birth® Childbirth Class.
