Dana Patterson is the owner of Cradled in Love Birth Services, an agency that offers the services of labor doulas, postpartum doulas, and childbirth education. Dana is a CAPPA Certified Childbirth Educator (CCCE), a Spinning Babies® Parent Educator (SpBPE), an Evidence Based Birth® Instructor, and a Stillbirthday Certified Birth and Bereavement Doula (SBD).
Dana has been involved with her local birth community since 2006 and gives back through volunteer work with several organizations, her work with clients, and by building relationships with local Care Providers and Birth Workers. As a Leader of ICAN of Upstate SC since 2014, which is a local chapter of the non-profit International organization ICAN, she seeks to empower women with information and about cesareans, repeat cesareans, and VBAC. Her work with ICAN also includes being a member of the Planning Committee for the 2016 ICAN Conference in which she had the opportunity to spend personal time with speakers and learning from their years of research and experience on various topics. Dana has served as a Student Lead through Stillbirthday, which is a volunteer position to assist doulas-in-training while they are going through the Stillbirthday training program. Dana accepted a position on the Leadership Team in 2019 for SHARE Upstate, which is a support and information group for parents who have had a loss due to miscarriage, stillbirth, or neonatal death. As a way to help bring information to the Upstate area of SC, Dana has been a member of the Planning Committee for the Upstate Birth and Baby Expo (a local event organized by birth workers in the Greenville, SC area) since 2014. Dana is passionate about helping women navigate through their birth options and does so through group and private childbirth classes; and through prenatal meetings with doula clients. Dana tirelessly works to serve expectant families in her area with the goal of changing the world, one birth at a time.
