Meredith Wallis is a Certified Nurse-Midwife who has practiced primarily in out-of-hospital settings. Meredith received her BA in American Studies in 2002 from the University of New Mexico. After working with at-risk adolescents at a residential treatment facility and in the public school system for several years, she went back to school to become a midwife. She attained a BS in nursing in 2009, followed by an MS in nurse-midwifery in 2011, both from Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) in Portland, Oregon. Meredith then practiced for two years as a CNM at a free-standing birth center in Juneau, Alaska, before starting her own practice there, Moonrise Midwifery and Women’s Health. Through her private practice, she provided evidence-based, full-scope midwifery care, home birth services, doula care, and general women’s healthcare. In the fall of 2017, Meredith moved to Bangkok, Thailand. Currently she is studying to take her IBCLC exam and to become a certified childbirth educator. In 2018, Meredith took a rigorous training through Evidence Based Birth® and became an Evidence Based Birth® Instructor.
