Jacquelyn earned her CNM degree and licensure in 2001. Prior to becoming a Certified Nurse Midwife, she worked as a nurse (LVN, 1979-1993), (RN,1993-present), licensed midwife(1990-2001), and CNM (2001-present) and has been in the forefront of women's health care for the past 38 years. Jacquelyn has experience in teaching group sessions as an adjunct professor at San Jacinto Community College School of Nursing, OB/Gyn courses for nurses (2 years), thru La Leche League meetings for the past 30 years, and thru her own midwifery service since 1990. In addition, Jacquelyn became an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) in 1995 and has taken and passed the recertification exam 5 times. Currently, Jacquelyn serves on the Board of Directors of the American Association of Birth Centers (AABC), a positon she has held since 2012. Prior to this service, she served on the Association of Texas Midwives (ATM) Board from 2003-2007, and as President of ATM from 2008-2009. Jacquelyn is proud to be one of the founding members of the Greater Houston Midwives Association and have been active locally in this organization since we formed it in 1989. She is also the current President of the Texas Birth Center Coalition and the current fundraising chairperson for the Consortium of Texas Certified Nurse Midwives (CTCNM).
